I first met Dr Barton through the nhs system and was impressed with his knowledge and the confidence he gave me. However some months on I felt that I was not getting appropriate support through the nhs and decided to see Dr Barton at The Chaucer. From that meeting we made decisions which improved my life no end. At last I felt someone was listening to me. Having got my life back on track, some months later I approached him again to perform a procedure to improve things even more. He was open and honest about whether he could help, but again the outcome has been more than I could have wished. The follow up was a two way discussion about what would suit me and I felt engaged at every turn. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Barton as being a true professional in his field.

Dr Barton treated me for gastric problems as a day patient. His approachable and unaffected demeanour meant that I was at ease throughout, from the initial consultation through to a gastroscopy and a follow-up to discuss the results. Dr Barton was an attentive and empathetic listener as I related my symptoms and medical history. He explained clearly the nature of the condition and what the procedure would involve. Most reassuringly, he offered a cautious optimism immediately after the gastroscopy so that I wouldn’t be worrying for several weeks before the follow-up consultation. I highly recommend Dr Barton.

I have been seeing Dr. Barton for a number of years. I had (note Had) a number of gastro problems, some lifestyle and some just bad luck. He advised and corrected where possible. Over a relatively short period of time My condition was completely changed. His advice and options were always delivered very clearly such that we could fix things as quickly as was appropriate. His follow up has always been excellent. I am now living a full life without the pain and other implications. I am grateful to Dr. Barton and trust him completely.

I can not thank Dr Barton enough. He is understanding, kind, professional and has listened to me. I am a real worrier and I have been nervous about any procedure and medication right from the start of my symptoms, but Dr Barton has been supportive and he knows exactly what is right for me and my condition - He has changed my life and I can now go out with the confidence of not being poorly. Thank you!

I have had a lot of trouble with bile acid malabsoption post colostomy. Having been on Colestid and Questran for many years and it seemed to not be helping in my latter years. My GP referred me to the Chaucer, I first saw Mr Wilson who then referred me to Dr Sebastian Barton. I was so distraught about what I was going through, I cried. Dr Barton was so understanding and talked to me about a different treatment we could try, I was opened to trying anything, I had lost my smile. Well what can I say, Dr Barton was spot on with the new treatment, I am so grateful to his wealth of knowledge, just the change in medication has given me my smile back. Dr Barton, he has a great bedside manner, a wealth of knowledge and if you need your smile back, I highly recommend him. Keep up the great work Dr Barton. Thank you very much.
